Laws like the Affordable Care Act (ACA) have changed the way health insurance is provided. The ACA was passed in 2010 to ensure all Americans have access to affordable insurance. It offers more options, discounts and broader Medicaid coverage to more people. If you’re already insured under your employer, it shouldn’t affect you.

You can buy Individual or Family plans through a Health Insurance Exchange during a yearly enrollment period. Open enrollment is November 1, 2024 to December 15, 2024 for coverage beginning on January 1, 2025. For applications received from December 16, 2024 to January 15, 2025, coverage will begin on February 1, 2025. For Medicare Advantage plans, open enrollment is October 15, 2024 through December 7, 2024.
